Irvine Community Services has announced registration is open for the Irvine Summer Camp program line up, with plenty of activities to choose from.

This year, check out STEM camps, outdoor sports skills camps, a music camp at the Orange County Great Park and the surrounding Irvine area beginning the weeks of July 13 and July 20.

Summer activities will be listed online to best serve the community and provide the most up-to-date information on registration and availability. Online, pre-registration is required as a safety precaution. All visitors and participants will be health screened before entering any facility hosting activities.

Per state guidelines, face masks and physical distancing will be required by visitors, staff and participants indoors at all of the Irvine summer camp programs.

From food science to human biology, the Bionerds, a local hands-on biology workshops for kids in Orange County, will be held at Irvine’s Los Lomas Community Center.

Teens interested in community building or general outdoor activities should check out the the Middle School Teen Experience Camps, located at various locations in Irvine. The Middle School Experience is also a virtual session that will offer at-home projects, along with leadership building and guest speakers.

OC Dance Productions will be offering six different dance, music and drama camps throughout Irvine for ages ranging from 3 to 10 years old, that include a Princess Academy Camp, and a Superhero Hip-Hop Camp.

For those interested in learning guitar, Ron Gorman, a teacher specializing in community sponsored group lessons in Orange County, will be providing lessons for guitar and ukelele. Gorman’s guitar camp will begin on July 13. Classes will be limited to 10.

For Irvine’s amateur engineers, Bricks 4 Kidz will be hosting a LEGO-themed summer camp at the Los Olivos Community Center, beginning July 20. For more information contact [email protected].

While summer activities my look a bit different this year, the city of Irvine has re-evaluated summer activities to keep families and individuals safe while providing much-needed summer recreation.
