Beginning Saturday, July 11, the Irvine Farmers Market at Mariner’s Church will reopen to walk-thru access for first time since March.

In an Instagram post Wednesday July 9, Orange County Farmers Market Manager Trish Harrison announced that modifications were made to accommodate state-mandated physical-distancing guidelines, which includes mandatory face masks.

Due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, vendor space is limited. However, as state guidelines begin to ease, more vendors will return, according to Harrison’s Instagram post.

In the meantime, guests can expect to see some local favorites on beginning July 11, including La Bahn Ranch, the plant-based milk producers @Kokomoomilks, hummus and pita chip maker @Babafoods, and vegan pastry producer @FrogsBakery.

While visitors are encouraged to visit this weekend, there will not be any “cooked or open food samples.”

Guests are advised to enter on foot from the Turtle Ridge portion of the Mariner’s Church parking lot.

While there might be an opportunity to get some sun and enjoy the summer weather, organizers advise shoppers to maintain a “grab and go” style at this weekend’s walk-thru. Currently, Orange County continues to see increases of COVID-19 cases, and the city of Irvine has seen an increase of more than 400 cases in one month.

This weekend the market will be open Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
