The well-known outdoors and recreational supply store, Bass Pro Shops is coming to Irvine with plans to open a 140,000 square-foot Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. Now celebrating its 50-year anniversary, Bass Pro Shops is looking to expand and continue its trajectory for another 50 years.
Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops, shared his excitement for the new location in a statement. Morris, who has been known to call his Bass Pro Shops the “Walt Disney of The Outdoors,” is eager to enter the Irvine community.
“We are tremendously excited to have the opportunity to partner with the Irvine Company to bring our next generation Outdoor World store to Irvine. There is no stronger company to work with in the region focused on the outdoor, coastal lifestyle and conservation,” Morris said. “Alton Marketplace sits squarely within one of the most desirable retail locations in North America. Located in the heart of Irvine near the junction of the I-5 and the I-405, more than 425,000 vehicles pass this location daily. More than 16.8 million people — nearly 5.6 million households — reside within a 60-mile radius of the store. This highly accessible, centrally located superstore is anticipated to attract customers from throughout the region.”
Bass Pro has become well-known to outdoor enthusiasts, thanks to many unique interior features including large-stocked aquariums, along with a large selection of watercraft and off-road vehicles that can be purchased from the factory directly.
The Irvine Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Superstore will join Southern California’s Rancho Cucamonga location.
