As of 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, the Bond Fire burned at least 7,000 acres in Irvine’s Silverado Canyon, with no containment. The City of Irvine has issued a voluntary evacuation order of the Orchard Hills community.

The order is currently voluntary, but residents can seek shelter at the Cypress Community Center which has been opened as a Care and Reception Center, per the Irvine Police Department.

 

The blaze, which began on Wednesday Dec. 2, after a flames from a structure fire in Irvine’s Silverado Canyon grew quickly — more than doubling in size — on Thursday morning.

On Thursday, residents in Irvine expressed confusion receiving evacuation alerts. However, IPD addressed concerns via social media.

While the majority of Irvine was out of the fire’s path, the Bond Fire has promoted mandatory in the following areas

 

The Orange County Fire Authority released an interactive evacuation map for all areas affected, which include

Black Star & Baker Canyon

Silverado Canyon

Modjeska Canyon

Foothill Ranch North

Foothill Ranch East

Portola Hills South

Portola Hills North

Baker Ranch

The Bond Fire is currently under the unified command of CAL FIRE, Orange County Fire Authority, and United State Forest Service. There are more than 500 firefighters are battling the fire on the ground and with air support.
