As COVID-19 positive cases continue to rise in California, Governor Gavin Newsom on Monday called for the closure of several operations, including fitness centers and churches, in 30 counties. Orange County is among those, with the closures in effect for at least three days.
Additional closures in these 30 counties consist of malls and personal care businesses, such as barbershops, hair salons, nail salons and tattoo shops.
Effective immediately, CA is closing some indoor business operations statewide and additional indoor business operations in counties on @CAPublicHealth Monitoring List for 3 consecutive days.

On a statewide level, Newsom called for closures of indoor operations in restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, family entertainment and card rooms.
“As a consequence of an increase of positivity rates, an increase in hospitalizations and ICUs … today we are announcing additional statewide actions as it relates to our stay-at-home order,” Newsom said.
As of Monday, Orange County has seen a total of 24,715 positive COVID-19 cases and 423 deaths. Irvine has seen 808 cases to to date.
