October is here! And while temperatures haven’t gotten the message, fall foliage is blooming with abundance as Irvine prepares to give thanks despite a difficult year.
A hallmark of the season is the act of giving, and Miracles for Kids OC needs your help. Earlier this year we wrote about the incredible work they are doing in the community to assist those who have been greatly affected by the pandemic, and now that need carries into the holiday months.
Miracles for Kids is an OC-based nonprofit that aims to support the families of children battling life-threatening illnesses. Now through Thursday, November 12, they are collecting essential ingredients to help these families celebrate Thanksgiving without the financial burden or added stress of braving the grocery store and risking the lives of their immunocompromised loved ones.
How can you help?
Miracles for Kids is accepting Thanksgiving food items in addition to $25 grocery gift cards in order to prepare their annual Thanksgiving Baskets of Miracles which provides these families which much needed ingredients, seasonal gifts and household goods. This year’s most needed items include:
- Boxed Stuffing Mix
- Instant Mashed Potatoes
- Gravy Mix
- Boxed Mac ‘N Cheese
- Dry Pasta
- Pasta Sauce
- Dry Uncooked Beans
- Dry Rice
- Canned Yams/Sweet Potato
- Canned Cranberry Sauce
If you are able to donate, please contact Sapphira at [email protected] and she will be in touch to coordinate the drop off. To learn more about Miracles for Kids and how you can give back this season, click here.
