In recognition of International Nurses Day, on Friday, May 12, the Great Park Homeowners Association delivered handwritten notes and thank you cards to nurses at Lennar Foundation Center at City of Hope Orange County in Irvine.
On Friday nurses at Lennar Foundation Center at City of Hope Orange County took time to read the letters and admire the work of local students. From drawings to poems, City of Hope Orange County unveiled these notes of appreciation by displaying them on lifesize letters, which spelled the word — “HOPE”.
The special notes were crafted by local students who helped spread messages of hope on International Nurses Day, thanking local nurses at City of Hope Orange County for their dedication and commitment to healthcare.
Eric Morgan, Vice President of Community Affairs at FivePoint, said this partnership helped generate hundreds of submissions from local schools within the Great Park.
“Just a simple ‘thank you’ to let them know that their work is so important and support their local healthcare facilities,” Morgan said. “I think it was in the couple hundred. The community really responded – particularly kids – through parents and teachers, they really rallied to generate these letters.
Morgan said the Great Park Homeowners Association played a large role in helping generate attention for this project, adding that there are four schools within the Great Park Neighborhood.
“It was a call to give a shout out to nurses – and it worked.”
