California Bike Racing is set to host the first annual Irvine Grand Prix of Cycling on Sunday, Aug. 28. Registration is now open for the 2022 California Master’s State Championships, and is set to close on Thursday, Aug. 25 at midnight.
Sponsored by the Irvine-based technology company Masimo, Kris Prinz co-founder of California Bike Racing said organizers expect the cycling event to bring between 500 – 700 of the top athletes from all over the state of California to Irvine this weekend.
The race will start and finish on Discovery, continue on Irvine Center Drive, down Laguna Canyon Road and onto Waterworks Way.
The event will feature different categories of races including a free kids race.
“It will host the Master’s state championships, feature Women and Men’s PRO athletes, as well as many other event categories,” Prinz said. “We will also be having a FREE kids race! The event will be a lot of fun for the whole community with food, music, vendors, and entertainment.”
