The Irvine Police Department has announced it is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to help locate a mother and daughter that were last seen in at their Irvine residence on Nov. 22, 2019.
In a tweet Friday, Dec. 18, the Irvine Police Department explained that the FBI is offering a five-figure reward for any information regarding the disappearance of Amber Aiaz, 35, (AKA) Mei Yi Wu, and her 13-year-old daughter, Melissa Fu.
Their last known whereabouts was on Nov. 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. They were last seen by Aiaz’s husband, at their residence in the city of Irvine, in the area of Michelson and University.
In a statement from Irvine Police Department, Aiaz’s husband claims that a man and woman, both around the age of 40, and of Chinese decent knocked on the door of their Irvine apartment. As he was opening the door, he was “immediately rendered unconscious by an unknown substance. When he awoke, Amber and Melissa were missing.”

The FBI is offering the public a $10,000 reward for any information regarding this case, according to a statement from the Irvine Police Department.
The statement, released on Thursday, Dec. 17, also included physical descriptions of the missing mother and daughter.
Aiaz, 35, is listed at 5 feet, 9 inches in height, 180 pounds, brown eyes, with medium length black hair. Her daughter, Melissa Fu, 13, is 5 feet, 11 inches in height, 200 pounds.
In response to a Twitter comment, the Irvine Police Department clarified that the investigation has been ongoing for more than a year. The updated press releases are part of the continued effort to located the missing.
