Honoring the original dates of the Joshua Tree Music Festival, the organizers are doing the only thing they can under the current conditions and putting the whole thing online.
They say, “The vision is to create the community feel and experience of the festival which we feel is so important for our community during this time and an opportunity for people to connect, even if only virtually.”
To that end, there’s a costume theme every day. Performers across all days include Edgar Hernandez, Mikey Pauker, the Desert Rhythm Project, and the undisputed queen of the high desert herself, Jesika von Rabbit. There’s also yoga workshops, meditation, drum circles and crafts. Find the full program at joshuatreemusicfestival.com.
It all starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 and continues all weekend. Stream via Facebook.
