Orange County’s largest hip-hop event has arrived, in the form of Real Street Festival. The explosive two-day event makes its inaugural debut over the weekend of August 10 and 11 at the Honda Center Grounds in Anaheim.

The stadium which serves as home to the Anaheim Ducks will yield three stages both indoors and outdoors, as 90,000 fans converge to celebrate some of music’s biggest acts. The underground stage, in addition to the two main stages, gives fans an opportunity to pick and choose which acts to follow, leaving them with endless options as they day progresses.

The all-star lineup includes headliners A$AP Rocky, Future, Migos, and one left as a surprise. The rest of the bill proves just as enticing, with names from 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Miguel, Jay Rock and Trippie Redd to Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, Saweetie, YBN Cordae… and the list goes on. Taking place in the summer, this screams West Coast all over it!

Spearheaded by Los Angeles’ most beloved radio personality, Big Boy, there will be endless interactive experiences onsite, including Big Boy’s own barber shop, nail salon and graffiti wall, and you can even watch him interview artists live, in real time. As the saying goes… “you never know who will stop by the Neighborhood!”

In an exclusive statement to Irvine Weekly, Big Boy (on-air from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.) states, I’m most excited about presenting a Real festival to our listeners in SoCal. Can’t wait to enjoy every moment with them. Over 30 artists, three stages and an experience of a lifetime. How can I not be super excited?”

In addition, he expresses feelings of elation.

“It feels amazing. The anticipation, the public response and the chatter I’m hearing about our Real Street Fest is like no other. With it being our first Real Street Fest, I feel this is what Southern California needed and has been waiting for. However, this will be a first for all of us. Something we have never seen before. Can’t wait.”

Aside from the music, festival-goers are looking at a long list of activities and activations. If you’re a fan of cars, West Coast Customs will be bringing a next-level car show with custom automotive art pieces inspired by rap. The vehicles will be curated with the help of some notable street artists.

For creatives all across the map, audiences will be able to create their own one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art titled It’s Your Own Thing. If you’re not feeling up for the challenges, you can simply enjoy. All weekend long, there will be live art taking place on huge canvases, billboards, and graffiti walls. The venue will be transformed into a space for the Real 92.3 brand to prosper.

J Cruz (on-air from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.) who holds down the afternoon slot states, “Real Street Fest was created for our listener family, to experience two days with them as all of their favorite hip-hop artists hit those three stages together. It’s history in the making for radio, festivals and hip-hop culture. There are over 30 acts along with so much more, it is incredible!! The buzz on social media, on our request lines and in the streets is on fire. Real Street Fest will be momentous for our listener family.”

In addition to the live art pieces, there will be an Artist Alley and Vendor Village, dedicated to artists and vendors showcasing their goods. All the brands present bring in a factor to the street culture scene. There will also be a California Love Thunderdome inspired by one of the most iconic hip-hop songs, “California Love” by Tupac and Dr. Dre. Festival-goers can adventure inside for the bar, Instagrammable backdrops, and even Mad Max-themed performers with pyro shooting in the sky.

Bootleg Kev (on-air from 7 p.m. to midnight) states, “I’m most excited about being a part of something historical in SoCal. Being in radio the last 15 years, you get used to the typical ‘radio show.’ This is nothing like it, the biggest hip-hop radio experience ever. It feels amazing. Any time you get to be a part of history, there’s not a feeling like it.”

Tickets retail at $89 and are available for purchase directly on realstreetfest.com. Layaway plans and VIP packages are available as well.
