For many drivers in Irvine, the Toll Roads have become a valued resource in commuting around Orange County. Yet, over the years drivers have complained about challenges when it comes time to make payment on toll violations or replenish an existing account.
To help alleviate the stress on drivers, the Toll Roads have implemented new payment methods that will allow drivers to use the Toll Roads while making in-person payments at 7-Eleven, CVS Pharmacies, Wal-Mart and Family Dollar Tree locations.
The update to payment methods for the Toll Road comes with the help of PayNearMe, a platform that allows users to make payments with different options, from credit cards to cash.
In fact, paying fee violations, or replenishing an existing Toll Roads account with cash, is now an option thanks to PayNearMe, according to Samuel Johnson, CEO, the Toll Roads.
“Adding Walmart and Family Dollar to the family of PayNearMe retailers that accept cash payment for use of The Toll Roads offers even more payment options for infrequent users, those visiting Orange County or motorists otherwise not wanting to open a FasTrak account,” Johnson said in a statement. “The PayNearMe program not only allows customers to make cash payments at retail outlets they visit regularly, but it additionally promotes commerce at these retail establishments, which is especially important for the still-recovering economy.”
For motorists looking to pay for services for the Toll Roads in cash, a store clerk can help at participating locations. Alternatively, The Toll Roads are still operating online, via thetollroads.com.
