On the evening of Tuesday, April 19, the Orange County Fire Authority responded to a structure fire inside an industrial business complex in Irvine. Video shows flames exiting the top of the building as fire crews work to saw through a lock to access the interior.

Greg Barta, OCFA Captain and Public Information Officer, said there were approximately 75 firefighters on the scene battling the structure fire in Irvine.

“We did make this a third alarm fire, to get additional resources on scene to aid us in the fire fighting effort. Best news of all no one was injured,” he said. “This fire could have run the entire length of the building, but our firefighters did excellent work holding it to two units.”

In an Instagram post, OCFA wrote, “Fortunately, an aggressive well-coordinated fire attack with simultaneous vertical ventilation on the roof contained the fire to the 2 suites of origin.”

OCFA investigators have not released the exact cause at this time.
