The House of Blues in Anaheim has been hosting some of the biggest concerts and performances in Orange County since it opened in 2017, and there are no plans to slow down in the New Year. Whether you’re a fan of country, hip-hop, metal, comedy or poetry, they’ve got it all going on, and Irvine Weekly is here to give you the rundown on what’s happening this spring. Below is a preview of all the shows you can catch between February and April. These events are subject to change, so make sure to check their concerts & events page to stay updated.
February 1st:
Kicking things off for February, Atlanta-based country rock band Blackberry Smoke is making a stop in Anaheim for their Find a Light tour, with Nashville-based duo Waterloo Revival bringing their own country spirit to the House of Blues that same day.
February 8th:
For those looking to remember a fallen legend, The Purple Madness is bringing their tribute to Prince to Orange County.
February 9th:
Sublime tribute band Badfish is dropping by to give audiences the SoCal ska punk experience with their Stand By Your Van tour. They’ll also be supported by reggae-rock group Fayuca and Roots of Creation.
February 15th:
Provo-based alternative indie pop group The Aces are bringing their shimmering sounds to The Parish room in an effort with music blog Ones to Watch.
February 15th-16th:
Grammy award winning norteño and conjunto musician Ramon Ayala, supported by Tiranos Del Norte and DJ Malechin, is gracing the Music Hall stage on back-to-back nights.
February 19th:
California hip-hop legends Cypress Hill are hitting the stage for their West Coast High 2019 tour with L.A. rap-rock collective Hollywood Undead.
February 22nd:
John 5, a veteran guitarist and former Marilyn Manson collaborator, is rocking The Parish room with support from Wisconsin-born blues-rock guitarist Jared James Nichols.
February 23rd:
Two-time JUNO nominated singer-songwriter Justin Nozuka and Canadian folk singer Craig Cardiff are bringing their smooth sounds to The Parish room.
If you’re looking for a night of outrageous, unapologetic comedy, look no further than Hater’s Roast – The Shady Tour, which also hits H.O.B on the 23rd.
February 27th:
New Jersey-based rock outfit Blues Traveler is bringing their blues & southern-influenced vibes to Orange County to wrap up the February live shows.
March 1st:
The March performances kick off with a show from one of the most famed and scandalous dance troupes out there, The Chippendales. Perfect for an adults-only night out.
March 8th:
English metal veterans Cradle of Filth are hopping across the pond for their Cryptoriana World Tour, presented by The Noise. Fellow metal acts Wednesday 13 and Raven Black will be opening for them.
March 9th:
The Toronto-based rock/pop/new wave titans known as Metric will be joining forces with the Latin Grammy winning psychedelic rock troupe Zoè. The Canadian alternative rock group July Talk will be supporting them as well.
That same night in The Parish, singer-songwriter Peter Yorn will take the stage solo for an intimate acoustic performance.
March 14th:
Georgia-based heavy metal band Baroness will be performing with the critically acclaimed black metal/post rock/shoegaze ensemble Deafheaven. Zeal & Ardor, a band that blends the sounds of metal, blues, gospel and soul, will be opening for them.
March 23rd:
Berkeley-based new wave group The Motels are ready to throw it all the way back with Totally 80’s Live! They’ll be joined by fellow new wave band Bow Wow Wow, makers of the classic “I Want Candy,” along with When In Rome II.
March 24th:
Hailing from Albany, New York, pop-punk band State Champs is coming through for The Living Proof Tour, supported by Our Last Night, Grayscale and The Dangerous Summer.
March 29th:
Famed acoustic rock band Boyce Avenue will be coming to the Music Hall stage to remind people why they’ve been a mainstay in the indie scene for more than a decade.
March 30th:
Did you like the 90s? A lot? If so, we have some good news. Cover band Saved By The 90s is ready to give you a blast from the semi-recent past with an interactive party and classic tunes.
March 31st:
Have you ever listened to Pink Floyd, The Talking Heads and Phish and thought, “Is there a way I could listen to all these bands at once?” Look no further, as Pink Talking Fish is here to satisfy your craving. They’ve even added The Allman Brothers to the mix, ensuring a truly unique experience to wrap up March.
April 1st:
Rapper, singer and songwriter A Boogie wit da Hoodie, maker of the hit single “Drowning,” will be coming through with Trap Manny and DJ Don Q for the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour.
April 5th:
Sabrina Benaim, the critically acclaimed poet and writer of best-selling book “Depression and Other Magic Tricks” will be coming to The Parish to bring her perspective to the stage. Fellow poet and author Clementine von Radics will be opening for her.
April 10th:
Ones to Watch will continue their mission of giving rising stars the spotlight by bringing Mexico-based band Camilo Septimo to The Parish as part of their Navegantes tour.
April 11th:
Texas-based country outfit Josh Abbott Band will be coming through to the Music Hall stage, performing songs off their latest project “Until My Voice Goes Out,” along with hits spanning across their career.
April 12th:
Ben Rector, known for his smash hit “Brand New,” is bringing “Magic: The Tour” to Orange County, with rising singer-songwriter Josie Dunne opening for him.
April 13th:
As seen on NBC, World of Dance is bringing the competition to the House of Blues Anaheim. Find out more about how to get in on the action on their website.
April 19th:
Country music veteran Aaron Watson, with over a dozen albums under his belt, will be bringing his talents to the Music Hall stage.
