After making the announcement in early April, the Irvine Improv Comedy Club will officially reopen its doors to the public on Thursday, April 22.
The wait is over! 🚨🔥 The Irvine Improv returns April 22, with great live comedy including @bobsaget who will headline our reopening weekend 🎉 We'll be at reduced capacity and socially-distanced, but offering a full menu and lots of laughs! 🤣 pic.twitter.com/BzK5NA49q6

This week, beginning on Thursday, April 22, the Irvine Improv will host the first post-pandemic, indoor comedy show at the Irvine Spectrum since closing last March, due to COVID-19.
Comedian Ian Bagg from British Columbia will kick off the opening week of live performances at the Improv, which are scheduled into mid May.
While seating will be limited, this week marks the first time in more than a year that guests will be able to experience live comedy shows indoors.
Still, that did not stop the laughter from erupting.
Over the last year, the Irvine Improv has adapted to the circumstances and worked to host several outdoor comedy experiences in a drive-thru setting on the rooftop of the Irvine Spectrum.
Here’s what’s on the calendar the Improv’s so far:
Thursday, April 22: Ian Bagg (Opening Night!)
Sunday, April 25: Kellen Erskine
Wednesday, May 5: Tehran (only 20 tickets available!)
In terms of capacity, guidelines within the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy indoor seated events or live performances to 15% capacity, or a maximum 200 people, in a venue with a capacity of 1,500.
However, there are some instances in which businesses can expand capacity to 35% if guests can provide proof of full vaccination or a negative test for COVID-19.
