After nearly two years of anticipation, Dave’s Hot Chicken, one of Southern California’s iconic purveyors of Nashville hot chicken, is finally opening its doors to the Irvine community. With a grand opening set for Friday, Feb. 4, excitement around the announcement is already building on social media.

Originally announced in 2020, the Irvine location was just one of many Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurants coming to Orange County. With dozens of locations spanning from Orange County to Ontario, Canada, the newest location in Irvine will bring the signature hot n’ spicy style closer to home for more than 300,000 residents.

After the news of the Irvine arrival went public, Irvine Weekly spoke with owner Mariam El Haj about why Irvine stood out as a potential location. El Haj explained that the area lacked hot chicken options and the brand thought Dave’s Hot Chicken would fill the void.

“There isn’t a flavor profile quite like the one Dave’s Hot Chicken has, even compared to other Nashville Hot Chicken. It is so unique and complex, definitely belonging in its own category,” said Mariam El Haj. “Plus, the brand is young, exciting and relevant. The area lacks Nashville Hot Chicken options, and when the opportunity with Dave’s presented itself, it was something we couldn’t pass up.”

Dave’s Hot Chicken is located 15463 Culver Dr.
