The Irvine Fine Arts Center is set to begin a series of Artists Talks Thursday, Feb. 24, that will help support the Fine Arts Center’s current exhibitions, while giving the public an opportunity to learn more about the artist’s inspiration, and the process behind the ongoing exhibitions.
Starting this Thursday, Irvine Fine Arts Center will host Alkaid Ramirez, the artist behind the Terrain gallery at the Irvine Fine Arts Center. Ramirez, an Orange-County based photographer, focuses on local portraits and domestic spaces. Terrain is currently on display until April 16.

Next month, the Irvine Fine Arts Center will feature In Conversation with Gretchen Batcheller, the artist behind another current exhibition, Mirror. Open through April 16, Mirror consists of pieces from Gretchen Batcheller, Perin Mahler, and Kaitlynn Redell, and explores “ideas of fragmentation and ambivalence.”

Following Batcheller, her fellow collaborators Kaitlynn Redell and Perin Mahler on the Mirror will also be featured in the upcoming discussions.
In Conversation with Kaitlynn Redell will take place on Thursday, March 17, 1:00 p.m. Redell, an artist based in Los Angeles, is expected to discuss her creative process along with new collaboration projects.
Lastly, Perin Mahler, who currently serves as the Chair Emeritus at the Laguna College of Art and Design, will also be participating in a discussion in his involvement in Mirror + Terrain at the Irvine Fine Art Center.
In Conversation with Perin Mahler will be held on Thursday, March 31, 1:00 p.m.
