You need to face your adversities with courage, embrace them, arm yourself with resilience, and move on.

Alice Hatcher, a health and beauty entrepreneur, is a perfect example of a resilient entrepreneur who has beaten all odds to reach the top. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, but raised in the US, Alice has been actively involved in the health and beauty industry for the last two decades. She enjoys a portfolio of successful health and beauty businesses in Orange County, California.

When she was one, Alice and her parents relocated to the United States, and things were not all rosy for the new immigrants. Alice struggled with racism and the language barrier since they could not communicate in English, and schools did not offer ESL classes back then. Besides this, Alice’s mother worked the night shift as a nurse in Minnesota while her father went through engineering school. Alice’s biggest challenge was discouragement, even from her own parents, who said to her that it would be hard for her to make something of herself in the US.

However, Alice did not allow these odds to dampen her spirits, and she continued to pursue her passion and become the successful entrepreneur she is today. She pursued a health and beauty course at Paul Mitchell Skin Academy and graduated with honors. Alice later launched a medical spa, Essential Beauty Medical Spa, in 2005 that specializes in advanced skin care treatments and products for all skin types.

In 2010, Alice launched a thriving e-commerce skincare store, Beauty Addict, just when online shopping started gaining popularity. The store carries over 3,000 products and delivers nationally and worldwide while providing virtual consultations for advanced skin care needs.

In 2015, Alice launched yet another family business, Precision Skin Rx, a medical skincare brand focusing on result-driven medical-grade ingredients that target various skin conditions and lifestyles. The vast acquaintance she gained from aesthetics training and retail experience in her 20s while working for big brands such as Clinique, MAC, Estee Lauder, and Stilla inspired her to open the store.

“The businesses are now thriving, and we are one of the top medical spas in Orange County, California. My businesses are the top #1 account in the nation for brands like Colorescience, Revision, Obagi, iS Clinical, Neocutis, Vi peel, and Biopelle, to name a few,” Alice states.

Alice’s success story shows that you should not let the negativity around you deter you from exploiting your full potential. Instead, be yourself, be happy, focus on your future, and never give up.

“People say shitty things because they are unhappy with themselves,” Alice adds. She looks forward to being a great role model to many, growing the family brand and businesses, and promoting positivity. In addition, Alice wants to help people boost their self-esteem through skin, fitness, and mental health.
