The first signs of fall have arrived at the beloved Irvine pumpkin patch at Tanaka Farms. Tanaka Farms gave its Irvine pumpkin patch fans a preview of the newly sprouted field, and also announced a scarecrow contest, in which the “Best in Show” will be displayed at the Irvine pumpkin patch.
While most pumpkins will not be ready to until October or November, Instagram users quickly began sharing their excitement on the post.
This year’s scarecrow contest will rank scarecrows by Best in Show, People’s Choice, Farmer’s Choice and Tanaka Farms Team Members’ Choice. All rules and regulations can be found on the scarecrow contest page on Tanaka Farms Website.
The registration deadline for this year’s Scarecrow Contest is September 1. Keep in mind, Tanaka Farms is limiting entries to 100.
Tanaka Farms’ Drive-Thru Produce Market Stand is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., where shoppers are invited to get their groceries from the safety and comfort of their own car. With a selection of fresh-picked vegetables hitting the stand daily, this local staple is doing everything they can to keep everyone safe, healthy and well-fed.
While Irvine maintains the lowest positivity rate in the county, Tanaka Farms understands that it’s always best to take as many precautions as possible.
“By buying direct from the farm and with the safety protocols that we have in place, your produce has only been touched by the person that harvested the item and the person that picked it out of the box for you The less interaction, the better,” according to Farmer Tanaka.
