As more and more businesses reopen with Purple Tier modifications, there are still some activities, like movie theaters and performances with live audiences, that are not allowed back indoors just yet. With that in mind, the Irvine Spectrum has kept the outdoor entertainment going through the course of the pandemic with rooftop drive-in movies, and live stand-up comedy shows.
This week, Spider-Man fans will be excited as Spider-Man: Far From Home will be playing outside, under the stars, on top of Parking Deck 5, on Friday, Feb. 19.
The Irvine Improv Comedy Club also has a few noteworthy performances taking place this week. The well-known actor and comedian, Jay Mohr will be joined by Alonzo Bodden and Jade Catta-Preta.
Since the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic began to take shape in summer, the Irvine Spectrum has found creative ways to keep the residents of Irvine and Orange County entertained – while maintaining all social distancing protocols.
Over the summer, Jurassic Park, Crazy Rich Asians and the Secret Life of Pets 2 all gave reasons for many to leave the confines of their homes for a few hours of fresh air. On the drive-in comedy front, the Irvine Improv hosted Craig Robinson in September.
In March the Irvine Improv will be hosting Whitney Cummings and Cristela Alonzo, along with an encore performance from Fortune Feimster.
