As Orange County prepares to celebrate Chinese New Year, there will be plenty of festivities to attend in Irvine and beyond. This year, the Chinese Lunar Calendar celebration lands on February 1, and welcomes the Year of the Tiger.
Diamond Jamboree
The Diamond Jamboree Center in Irvine is hosting a free Chinese New Year Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 29. The event will be held in the atrium area and will include live performances from Qing Wei Dragon & Lion Dance performances by Orange County-based Qing Wei Troupe UC Irvine’s Kpop Dance Group KKAP UCI.
The event is will begin at 6:00 p.m. with performances starting at 6:30 p.m.

The District At Tustin Legacy
The District at Tustin Legacy in Irvine is hosting a few different celebrations for the Year of The Tiger. Currently, fans can visit the Year of the Tiger Photo Pagoda, which is especially beautiful in the evening, for an awesome family photo opportunity. The Pagoda will be open until February 6.
Hosted at the AMC Fountain Courtyard, Irvine’s Tustin Legacy will be hosting a free family celebration on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., that will include lion dance, fan dancers performances, and glitter tattoos for kids – and parents! The first 500 guests will also get lucky red to envelop with a $2 bill.

Disneyland California Adventure
Southern California’s beloved theme park started its Lunar calendar celebration on January 21, and will be continuing the festivities until February 13.
From festive food to traditional performances, along with amazing family photo opportunities, Disney’s annual celebration is always has something for everyone.
