The Irvine Animal Care Center has announced the 2022 annual pet photo fundraiser.
Celebrating its 40-year anniversary, the Irvine Animal Care Center 2022 Photo Fundraiser will help raise funds for the center’s pet programs. With a $20,000 goal, each contestant will receive a 2023 Irvine Animal Center Wall Calendar.
In addition to helping generate funds for animals that require foster care or enhanced care, the 2022 Irvine Animal Care Pet Photo Contest will also provide the community a chance to be included in the 2023 Irvine Animal Care Center wall calendar.
Each photo submission with a minimum of five votes by the end of the content is guaranteed entry to next year’s calendar. Other prizes include 13 pets of the month that will be featured on the full-page spread inside the wall calendar.
The votes will be selected from the top five (most votes) in the dog category, and top five (most votes) in the cat category, and the top three votes of other animals.
Pet photo submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, August 31. All entries will be subject to a public voting process. Each photo submitted requires a $25 donation fee and votes cost $1.
Currently, a photo of Wiley, a 6-year-old Greyhound, is leading the Dogs category with 198 votes.
Named after the Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote, Wiley was adopted from Irvine Animal Care Center and has since “lived up to his coyote namesake.”
Currently leading the Cat category is Duchess, a 13-year-old cat that has survived a bout with cancer, with 121 votes. Duchess was adopted from the Irvine Animal Care Center in 2019.
Winners will be notified via email in September.
