On Thursday, January 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Girls Inc. of Orange County’s auxiliary group – Women for Girls – is hosting its Membership Kick-Off Event via Zoom for those who are interested in learning more about how to participate in the volunteer program.

“Women for Girls is a group of career women who are committed to helping girls become self-sufficient through interactive volunteer activities that support Girls Inc. programs,” explains the organization in a recent release. “This member-driven group uses its annual membership dues to help underwrite Girls Inc. programs and also gives members exclusive invitations to participate in direct service project opportunities with Girls Inc.”

Virtual attendees will have the opportunity to become better acquainted with the current mentors who make up the Women for Girls group, including how they participate in enhancing the lives of young girls throughout Orange County.

Undeterred by COVID setbacks, Girls Inc. of Orange County is a non-profit organization that has been working tirelessly to ensure that young women in kindergarten through high school are represented, encouraged and supported during this difficult time.

“[We] equip girls to navigate gender, economic and social barriers in a way that enables them to grow into healthy, educated and independent adults,” explains Girls Inc. “The team does so by providing virtual and in person year-round holistic, compensatory and intentional programming that focuses on STEM, financial literacy, sound body image, healthy relationships, and college and career readiness.”
