As winter weather melts away to the beautiful colors of spring, there are plenty of events happening in April that will surely give people in Irvine and Orange County a reason to celebrate the changing of seasons.

With Easter, Earth Day and a handful of other annual celebrations in April, here’s a list of festive spring events that should be on every family’s activity calendar.

Spring Around The World

On Saturday, April 2, the city of Irvine will host its annual Spring Around the World festival, which provides fun activities for kids and celebrates springtime traditions from around the globe.

The festival will also give visitors the opportunity to try international cuisine, watch live performances, make chalk art and learn more about the diverse cultures of Irvine.

In a statement, Irvine Mayor Farrah Khan said she was looking forward to celebrating with the community.

“Spring is a time when multiple festivals and holidays are celebrated around the world,” Khan said. “The inaugural Spring Around the World event is a testament to the city of Irvine’s commitment to celebrating and embracing its diverse and inclusive community, and I’m excited to share the many cultures and days of remembrance with all of you.”

40th Annual Irvine Virtual 5K For Animals

Starting April 1, the Irvine Animal Care Center will be hosting a virtual 5K to support animals in need. This year, the Irvine Animal Care Center is celebrating its 40-year anniversary! Register and track your progress with your pets!

Egg-A-Pool-Looza

On April 16, the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine will be hosting the Egg-A-Pool-ooza which will feature a poolside Easter egg hunt, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, face painting and bounce houses. Kona Ice will also be on-site dishing treats available for purchase.

Jazz at the Great Park

On Sunday, April 10 the Earl Gordon Trio will be performing in the Great Park Art Complex between 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. This will be the trio’s second performance of Jammin’ In Palm Court, which celebrates the lives of legendary jazz musicians.
